Her husband, the equally well-known Mario Vaquerizo<\/strong>, was on hand to collect the award during the gala: \u2018Alaska is enormously grateful to Macarena Rey, Pite Pi\u00f1as and Jorge Ortiz because without them, a proper documentary would not have been made. I think documentaries have to be done well, and these people do it phenomenally: they dignify people.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

For her part, the artist Alaska<\/strong> expressed her gratitude for the award in a video message and regretted not being able to attend the ceremony in person: \u2018It’s a great documentary, made by a great team, and it was very satisfying for me to be able to do it, although it was also very hard work, but I was very happy to be able to do it with this team, who are collecting the award today.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
A cross-cultural icon, singer, actress and presenter, Olvido Gara has left an indelible mark on the history of universal pop culture. In addition to Alaska’s exclusive testimony, her inner circle and colleagues are encouraged to paint a portrait of the star that has been largely unknown until now.<\/p>\n

Fascinated by glam aesthetics from a very young age, the documentary revives, among other things, the most transgressive moments of the Madrid scene, a time of freedom and debauchery in which she became a muse and experimented with drugs and sex. The documentary series, which was filmed in Spain and Mexico, traces the unique evolution of the artist and the person beyond the character, explores Olvido’s very personal relationship with cosmetic surgery, and recovers some of the moments in which the artist has managed to rise from the ashes like a phoenix, capable of adapting to all circumstances<\/p>\n
