Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group has closed several international distribution deals for ‘Pura Sangre’, bringing this Mediaset España drama to 29 territories across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa, as well as to the SkyShowtime catalogue in Spain, where it premieres today, Thursday.
One of these agreements has been reached with Global Series Network (GSN) for the distribution of ‘Pura Sangre’ in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland through Walter Presents, the international service specialising in the selection of premium non-English-language drama series. The series will be available in the United States and Canada through PBS, and in the United Kingdom and Ireland through Channel 4.
Mediterráneo has also reached an agreement with Dubai Media Incorporated, one of Dubai’s leading public media groups, which operates television channels and digital platforms across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, for the distribution of the series in 24 territories in the region, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
A family drama driven by mystery and secrets
Produced by Mediaset España in collaboration with Shine Iberia (Banijay Iberia), ‘Pura Sangre’ is an intense ensemble drama combining family conflicts, romance, thriller and mystery at the heart of a powerful aristocratic dynasty, set against a rural and equestrian backdrop, with a criminal investigation triggering all its storylines.
The series stars Ángela Molina, Pep Munné, Amaia Salamanca, Aitor Luna, Blanca Romero, Jaime Zatarain, Maru Valdivielso and Pedro Casablanc, alongside a cast of nearly 90 actors.
The story begins at La Galana, the stately estate belonging to the Marquises of Monteclaro, when Caporal, the most valuable stallion in the stud farm, is found poisoned alongside several foals. The investigation soon reveals that this is not an isolated incident and that a long-standing conflict lies behind the attack.
The investigation threatens to expose family secrets, conflicting interests, historic rivalries and social tensions affecting not only the family that owns the estate, but also its workers and the inhabitants of the surrounding area.
