At La Galana, the family estate of the Marquises of Monteclaro, the most valuable stallion is found poisoned along with several foals from the stable. This event shakes the apparent tranquillity of the family and triggers an investigation that threatens to uncover a complex web of buried secrets, crossed loyalties, economic tensions and unresolved wounds. So begins ‘Pura Sangre’, a new prime time drama for Telecinco that Mediaset España began filming this week in collaboration with Shine Iberia (Banijay Iberia) in various locations in Madrid and Castilla y León. Created by Nacho Faerna and Virginia Yagüe; with Macarena Rey, Nacho Faerna and Arantxa Écija as executive producers; and with Rómulo Aguillaume and Belén Macías directing, ‘Pura Sangre’ has an ensemble cast headed by Ángela Molina, Pep Munné, Amaia Salamanca, Aitor Luna, Blanca Romero, Maru Valdivielso and Pedro Casablanc. The cast is completed by Jaime Zatarain, Belén López, Eva Ugarte, Juanfra Juárez, Pablo Álvarez and César Mateo, among other actors. Ángela Molina plays Rosario del Monte, heiress to the marquisate, while Pep Munné plays her husband, Antonio Acuña. Together they embody a marriage anchored in tradition and marked by a legacy that is beginning to crack. Blanca Romero plays Alicia Hermida, an unconventional SEPRONA lieutenant who will play a key role in the story. What for her was to be a quiet assignment while undergoing fertility treatment will soon turn into an investigation that will shake the foundations of the marquisate and all its surroundings. The story also delves into the lives of the Marquises’ children: Miranda Acuña (Amaia Salamanca), a senior executive at a financial consultancy firm and future heir to the family legacy; and Héctor Acuña (Aitor Luna), a journalist recently arrived from a conflict zone where he worked as a reporter. Alongside them is Consuelo Cifuentes (Maru Valdivielso), the estate’s caretaker, a loyal woman whose life has always been at the service of the marquisate and its secrets. Outside the estate are other key characters such as Fernando Vázquez (Pedro Casablanc), president of the local agricultural cooperative and old enemy of the family, whom many point to as responsible for the acts of vandalism that shake La Galana. From this influential family to the workers and inhabitants of the area, pitted against each other by economic and political interests, ‘Pura Sangre’ will explore the lights and shadows of a world where everyone has something to hide… and something to lose.
