Coser y contar is a journey in ten episodes through garments linked to the history of Madrid. A route in which the tailor Lorenzo Caprile will make stops at different corners of the community to showcase the key value of clothing in various periods of our history. In each episode, Caprile addresses a theme connected with all those stories, garments, and lesser-known curiosities of Madrid’s fashion: the origin and evolution of the Manila shawl, the unknown Madrid atelier of master Balenciaga, guided by the great friend of the designer Sonsoles Díez de Rivera, or the details of General Prim’s historic fur coat, so closely related to his tragic death. Guided by his descendant Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, we will delve into the history of Empress Eugenia De Montijo and see how it influenced the customs of high society at the time. We’ll review royal wedding outfits with Jaime Peñafiel, discover the origin of Infanta Cristina’s regal veil, explore the history of the cape that triggered the Esquilache Riot, learn about the craftsmanship of Madrid embroidery, and get to know Madrid París Stores, the first luxury department stores that arrived in Madrid in the twenties.

In an entertaining manner, with his unique style and extensive knowledge, Caprile, along with various guests, will uncover unknown details about prominent figures and the dresses they wore in Madrid. Coser y Cantar arrives, a journey in ten episodes that explores the history of Madrid’s fashion
